The most important consideration is that your pet is happy and comfortable wearing a bandana. Most dogs and cats are relaxed wearing them as they are used to wearing a collar but some pets may become stressed or upset if it makes them feel uncomfortable. Don’t force your pet to wear a bandana if they don’t like it.
Never leave your dog unattended wearing a bandana or other accessories. In fact, I don’t leave my dogs unattended wearing collars. They roam naked at home when I am not there!
Measure your pet’s neck carefully before you buy a bandana and make sure you get one that is big enough. If you are tying a bandana around the pet’s neck, it should be loose enough for you to comfortably slip your fingers between their neck and the bandana. Make sure the bandana is not restricting their breathing or movement.
