Calling All Dog Lovers

Are you a dog lover?  Do you often find yourself Googling for information or products for your dog?  I’m a definite ‘YES’ for both questions and I have learned from experience that whilst Googling is fantastic, having information proactively delivered to me is far more useful.  After all, as they say, you don’t know what you don’t know.  There are a growing number of journalists, writers and bloggers out there who are regularly posting information specifically for you – dog-lovers!  So I have done a round up of my 6 Top Dog Blogs for this week.

I’m signed up to receive newsletters from all of these lovely dog-blogs.  They are an absolute gold-mine of info for things to do, places to go and stuff to buy for your dog.  Not all of them will be for everyone, but there should be something useful or interesting for you to browse.  Who knows, it could be the start of something beautiful for you.

My 6 Top Dog Blogs For This Week

Their latest post is Tips On How To Be Better Prepared For Going Away Without Your Dog – This brilliant, practical post will provide you with a  checklist of things to think about and to do before going away without your furry friend.  That is very hard for some of us to do – and is often stressful as you want to make sure your pooch is fully set for a week or so without you.  The tips in this blog post will give you peace of mind and allow you to relax and enjoy your human-only holiday.  Worrying about my dogs is up there in the short list of things that keep me awake at night which is why this post made it into my list of 6 Top Dog Blogs.

The PawPost

The PawPost

The PawPost is a blog dedicated to pets.  Rachel created The PawPost.  She is a journalist who writes regularly about pet news, top tips for pet owners, reviews of pet products and interviews people who work with pets.

Rachel’s latest post is How Having A Pet Improves Our Mental Health and Reduces Stress.  In this blog post, Rachel explains the benefits pets can have on our mental health and shares the stories of 5 people (including herself) who have been helped by their cat or dog.   I’ve struggled with anxiety and I know how much our pets can help us feel calm and relaxed.  It is so fantastic to be able to read about other people’s experiences.  That is why this blog post made it into my 6 Top Dog Blogs.

The Spiritual Dog Trainer

Spritual Dog Trainer

The Spiritual Dog Trainer takes an alternative, more spiritual approach to dog behaviour and training grounded in the belief that your dog reflects your own emotional energies.

Their latest blog post is an introduction to what Caroline does as as a spiritual dog trainer  The Principles of Canine Flow – Dog Training and Care, done differently.   It is so hard to really understand your dog sometimes or to be able to communicate with them.  This is such an interesting and alternative approach which is why it has made it onto my list of 6 Top Dog Blogs.

The DogVine

The DogVine

The DogVine is the London lifestyle blog for the urban dog. This one is quite London-centric but it is fantastic if you are in London or Home Counties.  The hard-working genius behind The Dogvine is Teresa.  Since 2015, together with her 2.5 rescue dogs, she has been on a mission to create a blog that is the go-to blog for the London dog.  On The Dogvine, Teresa features things that a London Dog (or their human) needs to know; a bit like the  ‘Timeout for London Dogs’. The Dogvine features a dedicated London Dog Events Calendar, has a growing London dog-friendly directory dedicated to London dog-friendly cafes & restaurants and also features inspiring four-legged stories as well as lifestyle pet products.

Their latest blog post is 29 AWESOME LONDON DOG EVENTS FOR YOU AND YOUR DOG | JUNE 2018.  There are dog shows (a lot of them), doggy brunches (with and without a pool party), a dog-friendly photo exhibition celebrating rescue dogs (love this) and the ever popular dog-friendly cinema. June also sees the return of Dog and Human Paddle Boarding on The Thames and that day we all look forward to each year…Bring Your Dog To Work Day!

I’ve used the info on the DogVine regularly (I’m a Home Counties girl) and Teresa writes such a fab blog.  This is why the DogVine has made it onto my list of 6 Top Dog Blogs.
